Research
The Sustainability Economics Group investigates how societies can sustainably manage natural resources derived from scarce ecosystems in ways that are non-wasteful and equitable, both within and across generations. Our research focuses in particular on designing and evaluating public policies to address sustainability challenges, such as relating to climate change, biodiversity conservation, fishery and forests, air and water quality, and health, with a special focus on distributional issues. To this end, we build on a range of methods, including applied theory, modelling as well as various empirical approaches (surveys, experiments, quasi-experimental analyses).
